Happy Weekend everyone! It's Rowland here driving the "o-gram" for a change... where's the brake on this thing anyway?!!

We have a lot of peachy news bits for y'all... the ABB's new CD is coming out March 18 and we have the track list and pre-order info... Lana worked to get you a block of seats at two of Oteil & the Peacemaker's post-Beacon shows and CD release party at BB King's... our friends at Relix have put a special Derek Trucks CD / magazine sub /poster bundle together just for you... and our long-time friend Ron Currens ("Hophead") wants to tell you about a new CD that has him, uh, what does he call it? Transcending? I think it means he really, really likes the music and thinks you will too.

So let's get to it!

ABB's Hittin' The Note Again

The long-awaited ABB studio CD is coming out March 18, 2003. There is a press release including several quotes from Gregg on Hittin' The Web with the Allman Brothers Band at http://www.allmanbros.com ... scroll down a bit and it's one of the first stories.

The track list is:

Firing Line
High Cost of Low Living
Desdemona
Woman Across the River
Old Before My Time
Who To Believe
Maydell
Rockin' Horse
Heart of Stone
Instrumental Illness
Old Friend

From the press release:

...these 11 cuts are described by Gregg Allman as "the best album we've made since Eat a Peach.”

"There's a lot of power in this lineup," Allman insists. "The more we played, the more we realized how good we were sounding, so we figured we'd start writing some new songs and cutting them. We wound up surprising ourselves with how much great stuff we came up with. Hell, we've got enough left over to cut another record right now."

Many of you have PM'd to ask about pre-ordering. You can pre-order the CD at Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000089RVP/hittitheweb-20 and have it shipped to you as soon as it comes out.

BBK O'Deal

B.B.King's club in NYC has set aside a limited number of tickets for Oteil and the Peacemaker's Wednesday (3/19) Peach Jam with X2 and Friends and their Friday (3/21) CD release party (for Oteil's new CD, "The Family Secret") for the Peach Corps. Peach Corps members can purchase these tix for $10 in advance, rather than $15, and not have to worry about getting shutout by waiting to pick them up at the door for $10 with a Beacon ticket stub. The leap of faith is that you need to send your credit card information to us to share with them (type of card, name as it appears on the card, credit card number, expiration date), your mailing address, and phone number. Also let us know which, or both, of the shows you want tix for and the number of tix. We'll fax the information to BBK's and they'll complete the orders. Email the info to lanam@nc.rr.com. There are only 100 seats available for each show so it's first-come first-served. We'll let you know if you did or didn't make the 100 seat limit. If you didn't, there's still a good chance of getting a ticket at the door.

Relix Has Another One For the Family

Our friends at Relix Magazine have put another cool bundle together for the family... a copy of THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND Joyful Noise Limited Edition CD Sampler free with a one year sub. Ron Currens Says You'll Like It!

Many of you may not know it but Ron had a major role in the birth of Hittin' The Web with the Allman Brothers Band... in 1995, I met Ron while he was editor of Hittin' The Note (http://www.hittinthenote.com). I was looking for an on-line project and was kicking ideas around with Ron. I asked him if the ABB might be interested in an online presence and he hooked me up with Butch who said "do the web site!" And so it happened! So if you enjoy Hittin' The Web, thank Ron next time you see him!

But that's not the reason for this note... Ron has been buzzing about Donna Hopkins' (http://www.donnahopkins.com) music for some time now... in fact his HTW screenname, Hophead, is derived from that love for Donna's music and not what you might have otherwise thought! He wrote to me the other day and was all excited that Donna's CD is coming out ... now we can all hear the music that puts Ron in that "transcendent" mood he talks about! I trust Ron's musical judgement (after all, he loves the ABB and edited Hittin' The Note!) and I suspect this will be a great CD. You can pre-order it at Donna's site -- http://www.donnahopkins.com.

Gathering of the Vibes or Peachfest?!

If you made it this far into the 'o-gram here's a bonus!
A rumor turned into a pleasant surprise and then ballooned into a full bore Peachhead fantasy lineup this week as the July 10-13 Gathering of the Vibes festival band list was unveiled: Headlined by the Allman Brothers Band, and also featuring Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Gov't Mule, and the Derek Trucks Band! And you know there will be some cool "sittin' in" going on! Is that a Peachfest or is that a Peachfest?!?!

The Gathering of the Vibes festival (http://www.gatheringofthevibes.com) will be held at Indian Lookout Country Club, Mariaville, New York, 25 miles northwest of Albany.

In addition, the Vibers have announced Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Keller Williams and Particle will be playing.

The Beacon... a new ABB studio CD... a new Oteil CD... Gathering of the Vibes/Peachfest... looks like 2003 is going to be the peachiest yet!
